
Due to the geographic location of Turkey the weather varies around the different parts of the country and the rainfall and temperature can vary dramatically. These can be separated into seven regions outlined below.
Marmara
Located in the North West which includes Istanbul with temperatures that range from -16C/3F to 40C/104F.
Ageaen
Centred around Izmir on the Weat Coast and including the resorts of Kusaadsi, Altinkum and Bodrum, temperatures are slightly higher than Marmara.
Mediterranean
Running along the southern coast of Turkey, much of it backed by the high mountain ranges and can reach temperatures of 45C/113F with high humidity in the summer.
Central Anatolia
A high plateau with volcanic features and low rainfall.
Black Sea Coast
This runs along the north of the country and has the highest rainfall.
Eastern Anatolia
This mountainous and rugged terrain with an avarage temperature of just 9C/48F is quite poor and the least populated region of Turkey
South Eastern Anatolia
Bordering Syria, this region has very hot summers and low rainfall.
